Paperback (Ishi Press, May 31, 2017)
This book was first published in 1908, The book was published as plain text. No sequel by the author was written or published. But after his death, many editions or sequels have been published by many authors. There have been four movie or TV versions. Many illustrated, comic and annotated versions have been published over the years. Most editions and reprints have cut out large portions of the original text. Most of chapters 5 and 7 are cut out of other editions. Here we are reprinting the entire book, as originally published in 1908. Not a word has been left out. We have added a few drawings by E. H. Shepard. This book is in Large Print Edition. The Fonts are 16-point type, nearly double the size of typical book printing. This is to make the book more comfortable and easier to read. It also makes the book appear to be longer. We hope the reading public appreciates our efforts to make the great classics more readable. The author used to go boating on the river where willows grew along the river-bank. He saw animals living among the willows and wondered what their lives were like. Later he made up stories about these animals and told them to his son, Alastair. He later used the bedtime stories he had told Alastair as a basis for his manuscript.
